For development of the INTOSAI Financial Audit the Subcommittee has set up an organization with several different expert groups and a separate secretariat.
Consists of members from 11 SAIs. The Subcommittee is chaired by the Swedish National Audit Office.
The Project Secretariat works on behalf of the Chair of the Subcommittee, manages the different groups, appoints experts and finalizes the Guidelines.
Consists of all experts and back-office experts nominated by SAIs. From the Reference Panel, experts and back-office experts are appointed to participate in different groups and task forces to develop guidance.
During the development of the Financial Audit Guidelines a number of expert groups were established by the FAS Director to undertake specific tasks or support the development work. At present these groups have no specific assigments. The need for these or new groups in the future will be assessed by FAS.
Assists the Project Director and Project Secretariat in providing the IAASB with public sector input when new projects are initiated by the IAASB and drafts FAS' replies on IAASB exposure drafts related to projects, survey and other papers exposed for comments.
Assists the Project Secretariat and experts in providing court of accounts specific considerations to guidance.
The Compliance Audit Reference Expert Group (CAREG) strives to ensure consistency between the Financial Audit Subcommittee and the Compliance Audit Subcommittee within the INTOSAI Professional Standards Committee structure for developing standards and guidance.
The Financial Audit Subcommittee has also appointed an expert from INTOSAI to participate in IAASB Consultative Advisory Group (CAG). CAG is comprised of representatives of regulators,business and international organizations. CAG provides the IAASB with public interest input on IAASB agenda, project timetable,priorities and technical issues.
INTOSAI is represented by Mr. Filip Cassel of the Swedish National Audit Office.
